The A Game Chapter 10

So I finally updated this fic. There is another clue dropped. The clue last time was that Josh didn't have his phone and Hayley tried to text him. These clues are just for this part of the story if you know what I mean? Ugh I'm probably making no sense so Comment, Buzz and Enjoy :)

Zac's Pov: I smashed open the window with my elbow shattering the glass to pieces as the flames flickered towards the door. Hayley was lying on the ground by the door, passed out. I coughed into my black hoodie as I clambered in through the window one leg at a time. Luckily the window wasn't high up, so I could easily slip through. The fire was just about to reach Hayley so I bent down and grabbed her, scooping her off the floor. I coughed again as the flames spread up my jeans. 

"Ahh fuck!" I cussed and quickly put one foot through the window with Hayley still in my arms.

 Hayley's unconcious body was extremely heavy for me to climb out the window with. I would never make it if I were to climb all the way out. I could feel the flame burning a hole through my shoe so I fell backwards out the window onto the hard wooden deck, landing on my back with Hayley still safely in my arms. I then rolled onto my side and heaved Hayley over my shoulder and ran down the road screaming for help as the house burst into flames. A car pulled over and took us to the hospital. I still can't believe that I did it. 

I did it.

Josh's Pov: "Where is she?!" I shouted, storming aimlessly down the corridoor, looking for her room. "She's in ward 12" A nurse began "But please don't run in there she needs-" I took off down the white corridoor scanning the room numbers until I came across ward 12. Anger and worry pulsed through my veins as I practicaly tore the door off the wall. I could see her Parents sitting on the left side of the bed. I cautiously entered the room and my eyes fell upon Hayley's sleeping body. She had an oxygen mask over face and I could hear her deep heavy breathing. 

"Josh!"

I whirled around to see Dakotah run in and stand by my side. "Oh my god" She whispered, tears forming in her eyes. Hayley's Father stood up and walked over to us. 

"She's in a stable condition. She hardly had any oxygen in her lungs and the doctors say that it was lucky that she got out when she did." Her Father choked on his words and his eyes were stained red. 

"I could of lost my baby girl" He broke down crying and her mother came over and pulled him back into his seat. Her Brother was also seated there but his head was in his hands and he didn't say anything.

Dakotah stood there dumbfounded, just staring at Hayley's unconcious body. I could feel the anger pulsing faster inside of me. I knew. I knew that "A" was responsible for this. "A" had hurt Hayley because I told the cops about them. It was my fault she was in here. Mine. Dakotah's quiet sobs broke me out of my train of thoughts. I knew that I had to be the strong one here. I gently grabbed Dakotah's shoulders and guided her out into the waiting room, her head pressed into my chest. I was about to sit her down until her name was called. We both turned around to see Cassadee standing there just staring at Dakotah. She pulled out of my hug and Cass ran into her arms, hugging her tightly. Cass was gently crying into Dakotah's shoulder, and they just stood there hugging eachother in a tight embrace. 

I looked over to see Zac in a black hoodie and burn't jeans getting questioned by the cops. He nodded his head and walked over toward us, taking a seat in the waiting room. I figured that this was my chance to find out what happened. 

"Zac" I say getting his attention as I took a seat beside him. "What happened?" He looked nervous of this question, like he was hiding something. 

"I was going for a jog down the road when I came across the house. I saw smoke coming from it so I ran to the window and saw Hayley there unconcious" His voice shook as he said this. He had a certain look in his eyes, I couldn't quite tell what it was but for some reason, I didn't fully believe him. He seemed so on edge. 

"Zac! Oh my gosh" Dakotah yelped running over to us. "You saved Hayley! Babe you saved her and got out unharmed." He stood up allowing her to run into his arms and smother him in kisses. Everybody crowded around and applauded Zac for his heroic actions. I was still wondering if what he said was true. Something was wrong here. I could feel it.

Cassadee's Pov: I was suppose to be mad at Dakotah. I was suppose to hate her for dobbing me in, but after Hayley explained why she dobbed me in I realised that it wasn't that much of a big deal. Nothing happened to me. I'm fine. But after I found out from Josh that something happened to Hayley that involved "A", I knew that we all, really wern't fine. "A" Has control over us when it comes to our loved ones, it just depends on which loved one is the target. In this case it was Hayley.

Why Hayley though? But better yet another question.

Who could be next?

No one is safe when it comes to A. No one.

I walked through the crowds of people that were waiting outside of Hayley's room. So many people were here because Hayley is so popular. Everyone loves her at our school. I scanned through the crowd until my eyes fell upon Dakotah who was resting on Josh's shoulder. I called her name and stood there staring at her, until she turned her head and her eyes rested on me. I don't know what came over me but I ran into her arms hugging her tightly. She welcomed the hug and I couldn't stop the ters that came next. I cried onto her shoulder as she patted my back.

"I'm so sorry that I dobbed you in and-" She began but I cut her off.

"I'm not mad at you"

"You're not?" 

"No. Infact I probably would of done the same thing"

"You're serious? Oh my gosh I didn't want to loose you're friendship and-" I cut her off by hugging her again.

Peeping over her shoulder I saw Josh talking to Zac. Pulling out of her hold, I motioned for her to turn around. She flashed me a grin and ran over to Zac, smothering him in kisses. Everybody crowded around Zac and Dakotah, clapping and cheering at him for saving Hayley. I began to clap as well but Taylor came over to me, hugging me warmly.

"Is she going to be ok?" He asked, pulling out of our hug. "Are you ok?" I nodded and hugged him again, I was just glad that he was here. "I am now" I replied, breathing in his scent.

"I am now"

Josh's Pov: I watched as everyone continued to cheer Zac on for saving Hayley. Of course I was grateful that he got her out, but I was also suspicous of him. For some unknown reason I had this feeling that his story was a lie. I turned on my heel and headed out of the hospital and down to my car. I needed a break from all of this "A" Stuff and right now the hospital is full of people. I will come back and visit Hayley when she's awake so I can tell her I love her. That's right I'm gonna break it to her. I love her. Those three simple words made my heart flutter as a smile broke out across my face. I half skipped to my car, tossing my keys around. The only reason I've got my car back is because of Hayley's accident and my parents knew that they couldn't keep me from driving to her. That smile soon faded as a certain unwanted person texted me.

Hayley got lucky, but she won't be so lucky next time.

This made my blood boil. I've had enough of "A". What A did to Hayley crossed the line majorly. I texted "A" back.

What the fuck do you want from me?

I need a sidekick to help with these stunts. You have the popularity, spunk and you will go under the radar easily. Join me Josh and keep Hayley safe, you wouldn't want another tradgic "accident" to happen now would you? So what do you say? Are you interested?

I have the oppertunity to find out who "A" is. I'm not letting it slip away this easily. I text back almost immediately

Good to see you're on board. Meet me at the greenhouse tomorrow night at 8:00pm sharp. Don't be late.

Yes. "A" Thinks I'm on their side. I will go meet "A" tomorrow and take em down. I smile as I pull out a photo of Hayley from my wallet, my thumb carefully tracing over her beautiful face. I will avenge her tomorrow. Finally this will all be over. Finally.
